This morning I stepped out the front door with coffee in hand to enjoy the early coolness and to my surprise I had visitors! For some reason each spring the local quackers leave the lake and visit the nearby neighborhood. Two couples were strolling around the cul de sac. I went to fetch a couple slices of bread and I quickly became their new bff. Maybe they’re looking for a safe place to nest or just a hand-out. Anyway, as I’m tossing small pieces of bread to the quackers, one of the females stayed some distance from me, while the other three were practically eating out of my hand. So I tossed a few her way. Well, both males put their heads down and drove her off her share of breakfast. Now I get it…the fickle men are both interested in the new hottie!
Their new girlfriend is younger and more adoring of the males. I wonder which one will win her over?
The poor outcast is probably last years model, but she has that knowing look in her eyes. Too bad that she will have to settle for the hottie’s cast-off. Oh well, it’s a learning experience. Today’s hottie will be tomorrow’s outcast. Fickle men!
